Taurus 11 ~ “Never give up the good fight.”

Winged Victory 7

“Never give up the good fight.”

The Span of Experience

Phase 41

Earth Element

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his
work, Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Taurus 11° A woman sprinkling flowers

This is a symbol of the soul’s determination to give constant and tangible manifestation of its creative powers, and of its eagerness to pour itself into every potentiality of living. There is here an easy and rewarding partnership between man and nature, so that a natural profusion tends to match his inner generosity of spirit. He feels responsible for the welfare of his world, and its rewards for his interest are very great.

The keyword is CARE

When positive, the degree is the high stewardship by which man builds everything around him into an enduring organism for his own fulfillment, and when negative, superficial satisfactions and a wasteful truckling to petty concerns.

The formula is: sustaining-ideal-efficient-specializing-spiritual-experimental.

Katy Perry ~ By the Grace of God

Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells, and cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row.

If you brought it to life—planted a seed, nurtured it, tended it—then don’t stop now! Keep sprinkling that which you’ve helped to manifest. Never give up the good fight! Storms will come—rain, thunder, lightning, wind! You are the one that must continue to nurture your manifestation through all it must endure before it returns from whence it came—back to the earth. Every energy must fulfill itself! So then keep tending your garden!

Besides, “More grows in the garden, than the gardener sows.” Spanish Proverb

Taurus 10 ~ “Cause-advancing devotion.”

“Cause-advancing devotion.”

The Span of Experience

Phase 40

Earth Element

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his
work, Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Taurus 10° A Red Cross nurse

This is a symbol of human service on the ideal or spiritual side and it emphasizes the greatest of all roads to self-realization. The steadiness of concern for the more extreme needs of others is dramatization of the most consistent opportunity for self to become momentarily a phase of all-self, and through that universal experience to become more satisfactorily whatever it wishes to be on its own account.

The keyword is ENLISTMENT

When positive, the degree is a complete dedication of the self to the worth-while and enduring projects through which it can lose all sense of separativeness, and when negative, a superficial pretense of humanitarianism in order to gain transient importance.

The formula is: sustaining-ideal-efficient-specializing-social-inspired.

Bridge Over Troubled Water

Found written on the wall in Mother Teresa’s home for children in Calcutta:

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies.
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you.
Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight.
Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten.
Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.
Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.

“JOY ~ The Soul of all matters!”

The Span of Experience

Phase 39

Earth Element

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his
work, Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Taurus 9° A Christmas tree decorated

“JOY! The Soul of the matter.”

When positive, the degree is man’s achievement of complete self-satisfaction through a simple sharing of his potentials with his fellows, and when negative, a desire to place people under obligation and to enjoy life’s riches without payment in kind.

This is a symbol of a self-renewal through a sharing with others, or a remaking of ties and a regathering of visions through the recurrent birth of a world spirit. Here individual reciprocity is given added dimensions as both a practical fact and an idealistic pattern or ritualization. Possessions are enhanced as they are exhibited, and as the enjoyment becomes increasingly vicarious and spiritual.

The formula is: sustaining-ideal-efficient-specializing-social-responsible.

Cat Stevens – Oh Very Young

How is your “Christmas” tree decorated?

The following excerpt is from Louise L. Hay’s book, “You can Heal Your Life”, pages 3-4

When we are very little, we learn how to feel about ourselves and about life by the reactions of the adults around us. It is the way we learn what to think about ourselves and about our world. Now, if you lived with people who were very unhappy, frightened, guilty, or angry, then you learned a lot of negative things about yourself and about your world. “I never do anything right.” “It’s my fault.” “If I get angry, I’m a bad person.” Beliefs like this create a frustrating life.

When we grow up, we have a tendency to re-create the emotional environment of our early home life. This is not good or bad, right or wrong; it is just what we know inside as “home.” We also tend to recreate in our personal relationships the relationships we had with our mothers or with our fathers or what they had between them. Think how often you have had a lover or a boss who was “just like” your mother or father. We also treat ourselves the way our parents treated us. We scold and punish ourselves in the same way. You can almost hear the words when you listen. We also love and encourage ourselves in the same way, if we were loved and encouraged as children. “You never do anything right.” “It’s all your fault.” How often have you said this to yourself?

However, I would not blame our parents for this. We are all victims of victims, and they could not possibly have taught us anything they did not know. If your mother did not know how to love herself, or your father did not know how to love himself, then it would be impossible for them to teach you to love yourself. They were doing the best they could with what they had been taught as children. If you want to understand your parents more, get them to talk about their own childhood; and if you listen with compassion, you will learn where their fears and rigid patterns come from. Those people who “did all that stuff to you” were just as frightened and scared as you are. [End of excerpt.]

Your blood. Your blood-line, your heredity. You aren’t in this alone. You came to a family line to heal, not only yourself, but your family. Be up and about your work! The family’s counting on you! What’s hanging on your “Christmas” tree? It’s not just what was put there for you, or before you… It’s about what you bring to the table, the gifts you’ve brought to it, to heal it, purify it, evolve it… Do that! Bring you–your joy–your symbolization–to the family tree!

“Have you seen as well as heard?”

The Span of Experience

Phase 38

Earth Element

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his
work, Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Taurus 8° A sleigh without snow

This is a symbol of the magic which man always may summon to his assistance in facing the problems of everyday living. Implicit in the static stress of the symbolism is a needless acceptance of the contingent relationships by which the defeats of life are facilitated. Snow is only necessary for this vehicle under the most unimaginative circumstances, since nature is ever prodigal in her means for supporting reality.

The keyword is SUSTAINMENT

When positive, the degree is a complete and effective alignment of self with whatever greater possibilities may remain unrealized in a given milieu, and when negative, a cheerful tolerance of today’s frustrations in the vague hope of a better tomorrow.

The formula is: sustaining-ideal-efficient-specializing-social-receptive.

Your Future – No Limits

What to do about all this talk of how things are going to work out so great and how you’re going to live your big dream, and how you’re gonna bring it to life!

Just Do it! Says Nike

In ancient Greek religion, Nike was a goddess who personified victory.

Sapare aude! says Horace

Sapere aude is the Latin phrase meaning “Dare to know”; and also is loosely translated as “Dare to be wise”, or even more loosely as “Dare to think for yourself!”. Originally used in the First Book of Letters (20 BCE), by the Roman poet Horace, the phrase Sapere aude became associated with the Age of Enlightenment, during the 17th and 18th centuries, after Immanuel Kant used it in the essay, “Answering the Question: What Is Enlightenment?”

And you don’t know exactly how, but that doesn’t matter at all because you’ve SEEN it! You’re going to do it because you’ve HEARD the call, you believe you can, and that is ALL that matters!

If you can dream it you can be it

No, you haven’t lost your mind! You’ve actually just had a come-to-Jesus meeting with your heart-and-mind for perhaps the first time. Not the first time? Well, you always find what you’re looking for in the last place you look, so this was sort of an important meeting, if you get my drift. Why? Because you’ve both seen and well as heard it this time. You have the vision now. You’ve heard the call now. You’re going to do this because you say so, you know so.

So, come what may, you’re on your way! Ho! Ho! Ho! Where you’re going, you don’t need roads!

“All that’s asked is all you’ve got.”

The Span of Experience

Phase 37

Earth Element

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Taurus 7° A woman of Samaria

This is a symbol of the unimpeachable divinity which characterizes man’s nature at root, represented here by his instinct for higher things as he yet plumbs all experience to the depths and welcomes life almost indiscriminately into the uttermost inner reaches of his being. Implicit in the reversed symbolism of this famous amoral figure of Biblical times is an indomitability of striving for real and gratifying self-fulfillments.

The keyword is AWAKENING

When positive, the degree is absolute and wholly impersonal self-giving in the hope of an honest self-realization, and when negative, a debasing and carefree dissoluteness accepted in compensation for the unattained and more enduring satisfaction.

The formula is: sustaining-ideal-efficient-specializing-social-sensitive.

Imagine Dragons – Demons

And again we are turned to Mary Magdalene. And so let us turn again to “These stone walls” a blog written by an imprisoned priest:

“The presence of these women openly challenged Jewish customs and mores of the time which discouraged men from associating with women in public. Add to this the fact that these particular women “had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities” could have set the community abuzz with whispers at their presence with Jesus. In the Gospel of John (4:27), the Apostles came upon Jesus talking with a woman of Samaria at Jacob’s well, and they “marveled that he was talking with a woman.”

A revelation that seven demons had gone out of Mary Magdalene is in no way suppressed by the Gospel writer. On the contrary, it seems the basis of her undying fidelity to the Lord. The Gospel of Saint Mark adds that account in the most unlikely place – the one place where Mary’s credibility seems a necessity, the first Resurrection appearance:

‘Now when he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene from whom he had cast out seven demons. She went and told those who had been with him, as they mourned and wept. But when they heard he was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe it.’” (Mark 16: 9-11)

A Reflection in the Mirror

To see the seven demons of the woman of Samaria in you, perhaps you could look deep into the well this day, even at the oppositions of the Seven Masters of the Septenary model itself.

“Knockin’ on Heaven’s door.”

The Span of Experience

Phase 36

Earth Element

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Taurus 6° A bridge being built across a gorge

This is a symbol of the conquest of natural difficulties by conscious means, and of any individual’s essential independence of nature’s accidents or inconveniences. There are always ways in which physical limitations may be transformed into personal or social assets, thus contributing a dependability on the outer side to a consistency on the inner and so giving every possibility of continuance and intelligence to human experience.

The keyword is CHANNELSHIP

When positive, the degree is the directness and the practical instinct by which personality achieves ultimate benefit of its powers, and when negative, a love of short cuts and every possible escape from the obligations of daily living.

The formula is: sustaining-ideal-efficient-specializing-social-experimental.

Celtic Woman – You Raise Me Up

Bridge building. I remember my dad working on a bridge in Hawaii. The construction process took place from both sides, and when within sight of one another, it was discovered that they definitely were not going to meet in the middle, at the same level, that is. In bridge building, ‘you-take-the-high-road, I’ll-take-the-low-road” simply doesn’t work. Everyone has to be on the same page, at the same level, eye-to-eye, and working on a shared plan.

Now, out there in the world, though we may think we all have a BFF (best friend forever) we fail to realize just how unique we really are. Eventually we will be tested at these points of impasse. So, then, where can this successful building of a bridge across a gorge take place, we might wonder.

I have an answer. You may not like it. It is my answer, however. It must take place within. If you are not meeting yourself eye-to-eye—the male/female, right-brain/left brain—sides of yourself, then you aren’t able to really be anyone’s best friend, are you? If you haven’t worked out this BFF relationship on the inside, well then there is the seed of dissolution in anything you plan or attempt to build on the outside.
My advice is that if you really want a BFF, then start with yourself. It’s called the Alchemical Marriage, btw. It starts in your heart and spreads to your head… It results in joy.

Be a joyful bridge builder within and then, only then, without…

“A messenger in the house.”

The Span of Experience

Phase 35

Earth Element

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Taurus 5° A widow at an open grave

This is a symbol of the impermanence of physical things whenever man permits reality to come to center in the static representation, and thus neglects the creative contribution through which he has responsibility for the larger whole. Implicit in the reversed symbolism is the need for an inner and constant return to every enduring value achieved by the self, and for a complete and immediate release from all outworn elements of experience.

The keyword is REORIENTATION

When positive, the degree is man’s genius for personal aplomb or an effective transcendence of disappointment and delay in an ever-spiraling self-discovery, and when negative, surrender to frustration or descent to ineptitude.

The formula is: sustaining-ideal-efficient-specializing-physical-inspired.

Natasha Bedingfield – Unwritten

Look me in the eye and tell me again about how bleak your future’s going to be. Uh huh, alrighty then! Time to shake off the dust and get a better perspective.

Let us, as did author Fr. Gordon J. Macrae in his post “These Stone Walls” on April 1, 2015, use our imagination, our faith, our hope and our courage–and most especially, our common sense–as we venture forth from loss, even grief as in death, unto life:

“I have imagined another version of Mary Magdalene’s empty tomb report to Peter. I imagined reading it between the lines, but of course it isn’t really there. Still, it’s the version that would have made the most human sense: Mary Magdalene burst into an upper room where the Apostles hid ‘for fear of the Jews.’ She summoned the courage to look Peter in the eye.”

Mary Magdalene: “I have good news and not-so-good news.”

Peter: “What’s the good news?”

Mary Magdalene: “The Lord has risen and I have seen him!”

Peter: “And the not-so-good news?”

Mary Magdalene: “He’s on his way here and he’d like a word with you about last Friday.”

Indeed, I imagine this symbol as that of Mary Magdalen at the open tomb. She did not tarry there at the open tomb. He had risen! And after his ascencion, HER work would commence and she was busy about it! She was ferried away to France, rumor having it that she was with child, his child, for she was the most beloved of the master. And, Sarah, their daughter would go on to marry one of whom the Knights Templar would then follow. (Bloodline of the Holy Grail, portrayed fictionally in the daVinci Code, also to be found in The Magdalen Manuscript by Tom Kenyon, a channeling of MM herself)

The Span of Experience

Phase 34

Earth Element

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Taurus 4° The rainbow’s pot of gold

This is a symbol of the true incentives of an outer and physical world, and of the rewards which are guaranteed by an eternal covenant between the least of individuality and the universal matrix of life itself. There is always the promise of a treasure which at the end proves to be a gratifying complementation in physical tokens of whatever spirituality the self has brought into manifestation through its own efforts.

The keyword is FAITH

When positive, the degree is an inner assurance which enables man to hold steady in every course of his choosing, and when negative, a loss of all opportunity through futile expectation and an unintelligent wandering off in the quests of pure fancy.

Astrology: The Theory of Everything – An interview on Chiron with Zane Stein

Chiron, The Wounded Healer ~ The Key to your spoils of war

Today’s solar degree is the same degree as that on which Chiron was discovered on November 1, 1977. The Glyph of Chiron is that of a key and serves to remind us that with Chiron, we hold the key to our healing. Yes, the scars will always be there, but they need not cause us to be stuck there. If we need to revisit an old unhealed wound, we have the key to do so, but this same key allows us back out of the past and into the present where our true power as healers exists. A key in; a key out. Likewise, the purpose of the Wounded Healer is to heal ourselves so that we might go forth and assist others in their healing. Chiron, The Wounded Healer.

Step into your healing power, for self and then for others.

Psalms 147 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names. Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

The Span of Experience

Phase 33

Earth Element

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Taurus 3° Steps up to a lawn blooming with clover

This is a symbol of the indomitable outreaching of the human spirit on the side of a possible and profitable co-operation with the natural universe, and of man’s intuition of divine reality as he entrenches himself in beauty and order. There is restraint in act as a contribution of self-realization, but yet a steady questing for all worth-while fruits of living. Here the upward vision is held completely in leash.

The keyword is HOPEFULNESS

When positive, the degree is a creative optimism brought to embrace every facet of everyday striving, and when negative, an unwarranted self-indulgence and a disregard of all practical reality through a concern over the phantasmal and impossible.

The formula is: sustaining-ideal-efficient-specializing-physical-receptive.

The Script – Superheroes

For what purpose is your striving? What must you defend so that it perseveres against all odds? What must you do so that all hope not be lost?
Do that.

As if you’re not…

Yes, we will fight for the good cause before us.

The things we cannot not do. Hope for the good cause…

Your greatest opportunity lies in that which you do because you simply must.

O Dragon

“Discharge the excess build-up.”

The Span of Experience

Phase 32

Earth Element

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Taurus 2° An electrical storm

This is a symbol of man’s real power for making an effective impact on events, dramatized at each moment of issue and crisis by the completeness of his inward self-mobilization. There is here a catharsis of nature, mirroring the capacity of every individual for discharging the whole complex of strain in his affairs and so clearing the way for a more genuine progress ahead. Implicit in the symbolism is a terror in the loss of aplomb whenever human personality rises to a moment of union with the universal forces.

When positive, the degree is a genius for dramatizing both the values at hand and the potentials ahead, and when negative, unreasoning timidity in all self-expression.

The formula is: sustaining-ideal-efficient-specializing-physical-sensitive.

“High Five! Come on, reach higher!”

Merlin Dragonlord

High Five to Mother Nature!

Lightning storms can be beautiful. Lightning storms can be deadly. Reverence is demanded! But also harnessing the understanding of our own power to transform is zapping our worlds today. Beware of pride however, it’s a deadly part of the game we play when we are playing with such raw power.

A study of Job 41-42 might well be in order for those who care to see how successfully such a story can end. You remember Job, everything taken from him, everything! His friends turned against him, too! The Lord had allowed these things to happen… Like I said, maybe just skip to the ending, where Leviathan and Job are discussed—the power of the one, the humility of the other, who rules what, and what rules who…

High Five to You!

“Those disciples of an initiatic school who seek to gain access to the spiritual world without having done any previous preparatory work will one day find themselves defenceless in the presence of the fearsome being known as the guardian of the threshold. In reality, this being is not external to them and exists within all human beings. It is formed by all their accumulated lower tendencies – their greed, sensuality, aggression, and so on – and it bars their way, preventing them from entering those regions they do not yet have a right to enter. One day, we must all meet the guardian of the threshold and face him. He is to be found in the ninth sephirah, Yesod. His threatening face strikes terror into any follower presumptuously attempting to venture into regions that can only be accessed by one who has worked on purity, mastery and moral strength. Only those disciples armed with knowledge and who have achieved control over their lower instincts succeed in overcoming the guardian of the threshold. Then one look is enough – ‘Be off with you!’ – and he disappears, freeing the path to the heights.” Omraam

Be Off With You!

That’s it in a nutshell or “in a lightning bolt” as it were. The power to transform comes from the “discharging” of that which has built up and must now go away. What is left? Exactly and precisely what was most valuable to you to continue your journey. Good Job! Well done, good and faithful servant!
