“Regenerating love’s light.”

The Span of Interpretation

Phase 147

Fire Element

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Leo 27° Daybreak

This is a symbol of the cycles of change as an ultimate assurance to the human heart, with an emphasis on the reason as the means by which man knows the nature of his own continuance. No matter what may be the course of events in their over-all unpredictability, there is always dawn or springtime as the promise of resurgence or a new potential in every manifestation of self and its world. Reality is ever a beginning in the sense of the immediacy it offers the individual.

The Keyword is GENESIS.

When positive, the degree is an untiring capture and recapture of life throughout the constant and confusing shifts of being, and when negative, wishful thinking and satisfaction in a vague tomorrow.

The symbol above is the trademark of The Sabian Assembly www.sabian.org. At a conference in the summer of 2011, I met José Luis Mayoral. He came to the conference from Spain. He spoke very little English. We befriended one another, and with our phones in hand to search for words, we began what is now more than a decade of communications. We have transcribed (me) and translated (him) the Sabian Astrology lesson sets by Dr. Marc Edmund Jones. We both serve on the International Outreach and Support Committee. I often muse that we must have been blessed with the gift of tongues those many years ago. It is inexplicable, but it is real nonetheless.

At that conference, one morning, I saw him running towards me, all upset about something. Despacio…slowly…slowly, I told him. It was his phone—he’d lost it! He was trying to tell me that he had retraced his steps, not knowing exactly when, the evening before, he’d lost it. Something about a Sabian symbol now. What, José Luis, otra vez, otra vez, tell me again, tell me again.

“Daybreak. In my room, I think. Leo 27 DAYBREAK. Break in day. Dinner. I take break dinner.” We headed to the restaurant. He’d just come from there. He was showing me where he had had his dinner. It was in the bar area at a round-top table for two. I asked the bartender about a phone. He recognized José Luis and shook his head no, as he had earlier when he’d been asked “Telephono?”

We turned to leave. There was a morning line-up of people assembling. It was getting very congested near the front entry-way. The hostesses were in a flurry, grabbing menus and motioning parties forward. It was loud and confusing. But in that confusion, I found peace. I saw opportunity.

As the hostess grabbed beneath the dais for a handful of menus, I leaned in and asked, “Excuse me. Have you received a lost iPhone here?”

“Why, yes! Here!” She lifted it up. José Luis saw it and jumped in shouts of exclamation and joy.

That seems to be the end of the story. But you may have missed the critical point that here was a Spanish-speaking man in a country not his own, trying to navigate our culture, peoples and environment, only to have lost his one connection to home—his phone. He returned to conference elated, and to then back to Spain once more, enriched by having met others of his group on the other side of the pond. One relationship was sealed and forged to a new way ahead—Leo 27 Daybreak: Genesis. This symbol will always remain my evidence to him (the Sabian symbologist to the Sabian astrologer)—and himself to himself (the Sabian astrologer to the Sabian symbols)—that the Sabian symbols, like Astrology is for everyone. He’d thought them “too American” and had dismissed them, but I pressed on relentlessly, speaking of them and debating (in very poor Spanish) of their efficacy to all peoples. Now, they did their magic and reconnect him to his phone, to his loved ones across the pond, and to his homeland ….. at the break of day.

We left conference on separate paths, or so it would seem… In a decade of time, we have produced many works in both languages for our people. We are forging ahead and continue…

Libra 13° “Taking the road back to me.”

The Span of Expectation – The 1st Hemisphere of Libra

Phase 193

Air Element – Cardinal

The formula is: manipulating-critical-ingenious-specializing-spiritual-receptive.

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Libra 13° Children blowing soap bubbles

This is a symbol of man’s reassurance through the presence of the beautiful and the good in every least promising form of human relationship. People are disposed kindly toward their fellows, but there is no growth in the mere rhythm of everyday routine, and human individuality knows it must be up and at the business of selfhood whether constructively or otherwise. Implicit in the symbolism is the challenge to rise above childish things while yet clinging to childlike ways.

The Keyword is ENCHANTMENT.

When positive, the degree is a consistent simplicity of character which enables anyone to maintain his touch with a transcendental magic of being, and when negative, a constant and idle daydreaming.

6 Impossible Things http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQ0Ngpax7gw

Well, let’s take a closer look at these soap bubbles!

This is the house that Jack built

Here is the popular British nursery rhyme—a cumulative tale–that actually does not tell the story of Jack’s house, or even of Jack who built the house, but instead attempts to reveal how the “house-building” is indirectly linked to other things and people. Through this method we hear the story of “The man all tattered and torn”, and the “Maiden all forlorn”, as well as other smaller events, showing how these are interlinked.

Inter-linked—like soap bubbles that cling together. It would be wise for us to think on these things that stick together, things which attach, and things which accumulate in our daily experiences of life— Whatever it is we might think we are building, might surprise and delight us by becoming something much more that we had planned. We don’t really know all that will manifest until our building-story, bubble-blowing-experience is over.

In order to get the magical content of connection and process, do take time to imagine how the interactions and interweaving might be connected—how they might be working together synergistically. Be ever careful with the casual dismissal of such converging and coalescing occurrences by determining them to be mere coincidence. Consider, instead, that they might be emerging from a realm of “synchronicity”? Do appreciate that you are the creator of your own reality. Watch out! Here it comes! Your reality is bubbling up from within you!

Phase 150

Fire Element

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Leo 30° An unsealed letter

This is a symbol of the spiritual integrity of all things in and of themselves, dramatized here by the remarkable extent to which reliance may be placed on the discretion of others in even the most trivial details of day-by-day living. Suspicion is a poison to the mind whenever it becomes a set of temperament rather than a normal competency in applying the lessons of experience, and in consequence man must trust his fellows in general and in spite of his frequent disillusionments in order to discover how far he may do so in every given case.

The Keyword is CONFIDENCE.

When positive, the degree is exceptional skill in winning and holding the respect of everybody, and when negative, a genius for indiscreetness.

An unsealed letter in the palm of our hand? Buddha – looking at his own right hand…

“In some portrayals of the Buddha, he is looking at his right hand. But is he only looking at it? Actually, when the Buddha is concentrating on his hand, he is making contact with the great hand of the Creator, that is, with the whole universe, with suns, stars and nebulae. And in the Creator’s hand, the Milky Way represents the line of Saturn.

“If the Buddha is concentrating on his hand, it is because the hand is not simply a physical organ we use like a tool or instrument. It is imbued with a mysterious power, by means of which it communicates with nature’s subtle bodies. Like the Buddha, anyone who concentrates on their hand can connect with the universe. They will feel they are in the hand of the Creator, nourished by the energies they receive from its centre.” Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov

Akashic Records – The Book of Remembrance

The Akashic records are like the DNA of the universe. They are the soul’s journey over time, so every thought, word, and deed is registered in the Akashic records. Each soul has its own Akashic record, and there are collective records of all souls or all journeys.

Phase 149

Fire Element

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Leo 29° A mermaid

This is a symbol of humanity’s insatiable appetite for experience on the side of psychological self-assurance, and of the nascent eagerness of the soul for a private and personal participation in every possible facet of self-fulfillment. There is an ineradicable purity of man’s make-up at core, and in consequence an ultimate repudiation of all the compromises which seem to be demanded in everyday relationships. The individual forever seeks and responds to the creative needs of life itself.

The Keyword is IMPORTUNITY.

When positive, the degree is a completeness of quickening to inner instincts of the being and a real willingness to trust them, and when negative, a lack of discrimination and an awkward insensitivity.

Phase 148

Fire Element

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Leo 28° Many little birds on the limb of a large tree

This is a symbol of the transcendence of the lesser things in life by a continual expansion of higher considerations, or of the individual’s ability in a crisis to center his attention on the enduring orientations through which he gains his own assurance. Here is a happy lightness of the human spirit as it rejoices in its infinitely varying relations with the beautiful and the good, or as its experience is poised at a point of highest satisfaction.

The Keyword is RAMIFICATION.

When positive, the degree is man’s effective mobilization of all the unrealized possibilities of his destiny, and when negative, an enjoyment of confusion or the momentary self-importance it brings.

David Lanz ~ Cristofori’s Dream http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kwa5E-Z_CY0

The planet of sensation, Earth—where birds sing, flowers bloom, clouds drift, waters flow, and mountains spire. With eyes, ears and nose; fingers, hands, legs and toes, all of our senses ingest, digest and consume all that is about us.

To each experience we attach a measure of significance through these sensate abilities. In the end we will have a story to tell—our astounding experiences and unique perspectives of what we have realized, those epiphanies of which we have become intimately aware.

Thus, born into such an amazing world and filled with such incredible personal senses, how might we plan, organize and construct for a future intake of our highest mental, emotional and physical endowment? We are the sum total of our experiences. Make yours a conceptual melody, won’t you, please?

This planet we call home, Earth, is filled to overflowing with stories. Some are mean and angry, full of hatred and misconceptions and loathing. But there are other voices! Listen to them! They speak of unfathomable beauty and joy! Indeed by such inspired voices has this cherished tradition of story-telling long been kept alive among us—at the cradle, on the knee, around the campfire, from the pulpit and podiums of great men and women come…

Phase 146

Fire Element

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Leo 26° A rainbow

This is a symbol of the over-all realization which comes to man for his guidance whenever he strives to reach his goals of a more enduring sort. Here is assurance of divine participation in the most unpromising of human relationships. The individual learns that there is a consistent ordering throughout the world in which he finds himself, and that nature will co-operate effectively with every vision he chooses to keep alive on his own account.

The Keyword is SIGNIFICANCE.

When positive, the degree is a sense of very real spiritual power and presence in all personal effort and desire, and when negative, an uncritical acceptance of every passing hope or dream as something on which to depend.

Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away https://youtu.be/TrI-eK5IV0I

What is significant to you? You must decide for yourself.

Alice: Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?

The Cheshire Cat: That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.

Alice: I don’t much care where.

The Cheshire Cat: Then it doesn’t much matter which way you go.

A Bird’s Eye View ~ Messengers of Truth

In the early 1970s, a researcher testing the ability of pigeons to discriminate colors, discovered by accident that the birds can see ultraviolet (UV) light. The finding was deemed curious but not too important. “It was natural for scientists to assume that bird vision is like human vision,” says Geoffrey Hill, an Auburn University ornithologist and the author of Bird Coloration. “After all, birds and humans are both active by day, we use bright colors as cues. … No one really imagined birds might see the world differently.”

Never assume! You know where that leads, don’t you?

Phase 145

Fire Element

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Leo 25° A large camel crossing the desert

This is a symbol of man’s capacity to overcome the handicaps imposed on him by the normal limitations of the world in which he elects to function, and of his underlying and basically inexhaustible endurance. Here is a psychological integration of human character, revealing an effective self-mobilization which the least of men may accomplish. His achievements in the face of the difficulties to be overcome are the real foundation of his self-refinement and ultimate self-discovery.

The Keyword is ADEQUACY.

When positive, the degree is uncompromising persistence and uncomplaining self-expenditure in any course to be followed, and when negative, ruthlessness in an unintelligent self-interest.

Paraousia – Paraousia https://youtu.be/tL1rb3DscIM

Wholly, holy, presence…

The camel carries water within itself, thus “living” water. And if we were to envision ourselves like unto the camel, then instead of seeing life as a barren wilderness threatening our survival, we might instead, also like the camel, realize we have all that we need to fully engage and even prosper in the “wilderness”. We might shake any gloomy outward view and instead base our perspective on the light from within. We each came here, you see, equipped not just to start the journey, but to finish it, and we may accomplish that in any way, with whatever attitude, level of understanding and way of being that we choose.

“We’re born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we’re not alone.” Orson Welles

And that is the turning point from wholeness to holiness! In such a state—aware of one’s own living water within, this greater form of holiness will emerge—interdependence. When two or more come together in wholeness—each aware of its own self-sustenance—then the caravan, the group of the holy, begins moving and flowing, too.

Phase 144

Fire Element

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

This is a symbol of the complete self-obsession which human individuality may exhibit, emphasized here on the side of an insensitiveness to every exaction or reward of the world. Implicit in the reversed symbolism are the values of an inner refining of self and a need to use and exalt rather than hoard the physical and psychological possessions of the being. Paradoxically enough the bringing of reality to center is a development and sharing of its potentialities.

Leo 24° An untidy, unkempt man

The Keyword is IMPERTURBABILITY.

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Leo 23° A bareback rider

This is a symbol of man’s absolute mastery of his immediate world of experience, and of his ability to capitalize on any special function of life with which he is concerned. There are illimitable opportunities for the human spirit to dramatize its personal achievement or individual aspiration, and to do this is the way of most effective self-refinement if only it is pursued assiduously and valiantly enough.

The Keyword is AUDACITY.

When positive, the degree is uncompromising courage in the everyday business of living and a carefree assurance in meeting the problems of a modern society, and when negative, idle self-display and intemperate desire for applause.

Leo 22° A carrier pigeon

This is a symbol of the unlimited service of life at large to the special requirements of an individual’s intelligence or understanding. Implicit in the symbolism is the extraordinary extent to which man may count on learning whatever he may need to know whenever he faces any unfamiliar or critical issue. Here is a universal sensitiveness of mind which in a sense commands all knowledge, and receives messages of immediate pertinence through sheer intuition whenever its rational capacity has been developed.

The Keyword is ENLIGHTENMENT.

When positive, the degree is a complete mastery of all things through the normal processes of thought, and when negative, a lack of simple good sense.

Keep Your Head Up ~ Ben Howard http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADP65wbBUpc

On Humility

“For the greater individual is the one who is the servant of all. And to conquer self is greater than taking many cities. For, here ye may find humbleness as against that which cries oft for expression, and the feeling of not being appreciated. Express it more in the greater amount of love upon those who may be aided through thy effort. For, remember, man looks upon the things of the day but God looks upon the heart.” Edgar Cayce, Reading 3253-2 Think On This, Make the world a better place because you have lived in it.

On Rejection

“To reject a human being, to scorn and humiliate them, is to declare that they are not one of God’s creatures. And no one has the right to declare or even think such a thing; no one has the right to place themselves between the heavenly Father and one of his creatures. If someone willfully cuts themselves off from divine love, obviously they are free to do so, but no one else can cut them off; no one has the right to exclude them.

“Even the least evolved beings, even the most guilty, are sons and daughters of God. He has placed a spark in them – their spirit – which is an emanation of himself, and the presence of this spark means that they share something of his divine nature.

“When they make mistakes, they deserve of course to be reprimanded, penalized. But even if they need to be treated harshly and kept out of the way for a while, we should never forget that somewhere, buried deep down inside them, is a divine seed and that this divine seed must be respected and cultivated. When God’s children are subjected to humiliations, it is God himself who is insulted.” Omraam Daily Meditation
