An Introduction to My Work

I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to my work.

My work aligns with the 365-day calendar, not the 360-degree circle. In order to do this five additional days or spaces have been added to the wheel of 360 Sabian symbols. I call them the Days of the Divine Feminine. Yes, on Leap Year, there is an additional degree or spacing, which serves as Leap Day.

Thus, in my work, the heavens align in perfect order with the Earth and vice versa. For this reason, there are times when my work is ahead of the astrological sunrise degree and times when it is behind the sunrise degree and times when it is in alignment with the astrological degrees. You may have noticed this if you follow me and receive my daily blog notification emails. It is for those of you who have taken note of this that I am writing this explanation.

In astrological chart calculations using the 360-degree wheel, these five days are accounted for as “Holdover” and “Skipped” degrees to compensate for the difference between 360 and 365. Further, they are not the same every year! The Sabian Assembly invites you to download a free pdf Sabian Symbol sunrise chart for 2023. While there you might take a moment to read the explanation for these holdover and skipped degrees. In my work, there are no symbols skipped or held over, as each day has its own symbol. However, the dates on which these fall are matched into alignment with the calendar, the Earth’s orbit around the sun.

By the way, I am also an avid astrology student, and I am well-aware of the relationship and distinction between my work and astrological computations. I draw, study and read charts as do many of you, on a daily basis, and have done so for 17 years now. My work is not in opposition to astrology, but is my own creative alignment—an experiment, which I share with others and which is especially directed to non-astrologers. I understand and enjoy the benefits of both systems.

Where is this star pattern located, you might wonder. I placed one of the five points opposite the Galactic Center, which is at Sagittarius 28. It is the 3^rd point of the star pattern. The placement for it is, therefore, between Gemini 28 and 29.

The five points I use are aligned with the seasons, given by Pythagoras as being five in number, not four. They are Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter and Terror Time or The Blackening. Time to do it. Time to make a commitment to the direction you are going. Time to manifest your seal—your sealing up of yourself to the new direction. A self-dedication, such that what is bound here on earth is bound in the heavens. Immediacy, no dilly-dallying. It is time.

We all come to such moments of decision. We don’t know what lies ahead, only that we will not go back. We prefer the unknown based on the direction established in the present moment. We take a peek forward from our own shoulders of experience and know assuredly that what we want and where we are going are out there and not back there. Be wise, begin.

He knows that life can always be made to reveal any pertinent details of its fundamental ordering.

When positive, the degree is unusual keenness of observation and exceptional competence in judgment, and when negative, superficial uncertainty and a continual trimming to passing events.

What’s springing up in your world?

We get to be the all of it or any part of it we want to be. Many have spoken of this concept of self-created reality, expressing it in various ways—the Yin or the Yang of it, the Light or the Dark of it, the Good or the Evil of it. Choices made in every present moment. Then there is the idea of reincarnation that we can come back and be it this way this time and that way that time. Or, and this is the one I hold fast to–the idea that all that we see is but a reflection of ourselves. Anyway, today’s septenary is about that—how you get to be. But you’ll have to decide how to “see” this concept of springing forward for yourself.

Speaking of Weather Divination – It’s IMBOLC!

Imbolc, also called (Saint) Brigid’s Day, is a Gaelic traditional festival marking the beginning of spring. Most commonly it is held on 1/2 February, or about halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. It is one of the four Gaelic seasonal festivals—along with Beltane, Lughnasadh and Samhain—and corresponds to the Welsh Gŵyl Fairy Canhwyllau. For Christians, especially in Ireland, it is the feast day of Saint Brigid.

It is believed that it was originally a pagan festival associated with the goddess Brigid (goddess of fertility) and that it was Christianized as a festival of Saint Brigid, who is thought to be a Christianization of the goddess. At Imbolc, Brigid’s crosses were made and a doll-like figure of Brigid, called a Brídeóg, would be paraded from house-to-house. Brigid was said to visit one’s home at Imbolc. To receive her blessings, people would make a bed for Brigid and leave her food and drink, while items of clothing would be left outside for her to bless. Brigid was also invoked to protect homes and livestock. Special feasts were had, holy wells were visited and it was also a time for divination.

Why do we contemplate? Why do we look into the mirror? What are we considering? Are we looking for an explanation or understanding for what we see there, and what we are thinking about what we see?

Today, the first day of the annual cycle, is a STUDENT of nature lecturing. Not a professor! Not an expert! This is about learning and being able to deliver what we have realized in our study of ourselves, about our own nature, regarding what and who we see standing before us in the mirror.

Are we young at heart? No matter the number of revolutions around the sun, let us be an eternally young and ever seeking expanded consciousness–a student lecturing—from the heart!

Think about your body. What a wonderful home our souls have! Notice how it endures things your heart has been broken apart over…

What do you do for your body in appreciation for its resilience and fortitude? No, you don’t have to eradicate every piece of cake or workout 7 days a week to pay it back. Do take time to rest when able–at noon, in the afternoon, at night, sleep in the morning if you can. But make sure to allow for rest! And eat well! Nourish your body! If you can’t live without your daily piece of chocolate, there’s no need to. If you want a strong, healthy, fit body you can have it. Go buy yourself a nice yoga mat, sexy workout clothes to encourage time spent doing the healthy exercising you are able to do.

Take care of your spirit too. Meditate or relax the mind often. Light candles. They make everything seem softer and calmer. Pour your thoughts into something constructive. Write every day. Write poems and grocery lists and stories, document your day. When you’re 16 or 17, not a single thing of what you do seems magnificent but when you become 25 and you feel lost within yourself, these memories will bring you back. adapted from writing by McCall Rollins

Blowing Your Mind for Clarity’s Sake

Go ahead, fan the flames if you dare. Make it right. Speak your truth. Let those sticks of dynamite turn everything into kindling wood. Light the fuse that’s been haunting you all this time. Fear has held you back. Let truth fly free. What’s left standing was always meant to stand. What doesn’t survive the blast? Those things were never meant to endure to begin with. It’s time to be thorough.

Then, Sweep Out All Those Ashes

None of us have ever committed a “new” sin. They’ve all been done before. Nothing unique about what you did or he did or she did. We’re all here on this planet Earth together. The lessons bind us together. We need to go through this sojourn in order for us to move ahead, individually and collectively. We are overcoming, at the most fundamental level, our animalistic and egoic natures. Lots of lessons about sex, loyalty, allegiance, ideals, power, greed, and on and on, round and round we go, learning here and there, with each relationship, more about ourselves. We all fall. Rising is a choice. Eventually we’ll learn what it was we wanted to learn. We’ll break the pattern hiding deep within our psyche. Only then can we sweep out the old and bring in the new.

Heavenly Bodies

There are the heavenly bodies and luminous, sculptures of light we see in the darkness. As we gaze upon them, we are innately responding with our own light energy patterns, our own auras are perceived by them. It is a transference of energy, each of glowing from the light within, speaking the stories of our presence from wherever we may be. We are all dreams coming true; we are all light coming through. And in one another’s presence we meet and our lights, as well as our dreams, cross paths. And it is a dramatic and glorious response between heavens and earth.

The Galactic Center Speaks

Here at Sagittarius 28, the old bridge over a beautiful stream, it may well be that we lay out the welcome mat and receive our visitors upon life’s journey more than on any other particular degree. We are at the degree of the Galactic Center, you see. Enjoy this day as you play here with others, dance here with others, harmonize here with others. But also enjoy the magic that this portal brings—a moment in the cycle when we may play with cosmic characters, dance with them and harmonize with them, as well, for here it is that they stand in all their fullness of light and glory! Come! Let us dance! Let us play!

The Final Chapter
