An Introduction to My Work

I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to my work.

My work aligns with the 365-day calendar, not the 360-degree circle. In order to do this five additional days or spaces have been added to the wheel of 360 Sabian symbols. I call them the Days of the Divine Feminine. Yes, on Leap Year, there is an additional degree or spacing, which serves as Leap Day.

Thus, in my work, the heavens align in perfect order with the Earth and vice versa. For this reason, there are times when my work is ahead of the astrological sunrise degree and times when it is behind the sunrise degree and times when it is in alignment with the astrological degrees. You may have noticed this if you follow me and receive my daily blog notification emails. It is for those of you who have taken note of this that I am writing this explanation.

In astrological chart calculations using the 360-degree wheel, these five days are accounted for as “Holdover” and “Skipped” degrees to compensate for the difference between 360 and 365. Further, they are not the same every year! The Sabian Assembly invites you to download a free pdf Sabian Symbol sunrise chart for 2023. While there you might take a moment to read the explanation for these holdover and skipped degrees. In my work, there are no symbols skipped or held over, as each day has its own symbol. However, the dates on which these fall are matched into alignment with the calendar, the Earth’s orbit around the sun.

By the way, I am also an avid astrology student, and I am well-aware of the relationship and distinction between my work and astrological computations. I draw, study and read charts as do many of you, on a daily basis, and have done so for 17 years now. My work is not in opposition to astrology, but is my own creative alignment—an experiment, which I share with others and which is especially directed to non-astrologers. I understand and enjoy the benefits of both systems.

Where is this star pattern located, you might wonder. I placed one of the five points opposite the Galactic Center, which is at Sagittarius 28. It is the 3^rd point of the star pattern. The placement for it is, therefore, between Gemini 28 and 29.

The five points I use are aligned with the seasons, given by Pythagoras as being five in number, not four. They are Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter and Terror Time or The Blackening. Here are the five dates and Days of the Divine Feminine, which are also found in my book On the Shoulders of Giants: Advanced Techniques in Sabian Symbology by Saijin:

1^st Day of the Divine Feminine – The Blackening – between Aquarius 4 and 5 – January 24

2^nd Day of the Divine Feminine – Spring – between Aries 16 and 17 – April 7

3^rd Day of the Divine Feminine – Summer – between Gemini 28 and 29 – June 19

4^th Day of the Divine Feminine – Autumn – between Virgo 10 and 11 – August 31

5^th Day of the Divine Feminine – Winter – between Scorpio 22 and 23 – November 12

To Make Holy

Sanctification is a Greek word “hagiamos” which translated means holiness. To sanctify, therefore, means to make holy. Here is the state of proper functioning. To sanctify someone or something is to set that person or thing apart for the use intended by its designer. A pen is “sanctified” when used to write. Eyeglasses are “sanctified” when used to improve sight. In the theological sense, things are sanctified when they are used for the purpose God intends. A human being is sanctified, therefore, when he or she lives according to God’s design .and purpose.” Source

The Smell of Roses

“People reportedly perceive the fragrance of roses although there are no roses present in a room or house. The experience is frequently related to a spiritual event of some importance. How do we explain this? The fragrance of roses and the smelling of roses is frequently mentioned in records of mystical experiences. How to explain it? I am not sure if there is a scientific answer. I haven’t seen any, not so far. However, it is a fact that strong spiritual, as well as other mental, activities can trigger accompanying sensory perceptions. The imaginative power, for example the intense thought on behalf of a beloved person, may produce a physical impression and presence of that person. The smelling of roses, being a refined and exquisite sensation, may be the equivalent of a highly-spiritual and, likewise, exquisite experience. Or it may be the spiritual compensation for a painful spiritual experience. Some mystics are invited to experience the dolors of Christ’s Passion. This is a symbol of the contribution of familiar experience to the refinement of selfhood, given emphasis by the full self-expenditure required for any satisfactory acceptance into a fellowship with others. Here a practical attention to the immediate needs of the individual as a member of his group is the effective evidence to the broader competency. Social incentives inevitably come to overbalance the more primitive instincts and appetites.

The Keyword is PARTICIPATION.

When positive, the degree is the calm efficiency which enables man to pour all of himself into the mastery of any situation arising to challenge him, and when negative, complete perfunctoriness of thinking and doing.

It’ time to present an orderly and manicured vision of you for the sake of your future.

The Glue

The solution is always in the problem. The young man should have asked the Old Woman, perhaps? She might have had a different perspective. She might have gotten out the glue, as in days of old, and glued all those million pieces together again! Or perhaps she might have created a stained-glass window. Or, if she was really, really, really wise, she would have looked at the pile of broken shards, and bending low, she might have exclaimed, “Oh look how this one shines! Just like you! You are like this shiny, broken piece—one in a million!” And with that she would have placed it in some special place so that you would remember how special you are.

Immortality is Practical and Orderly, and it never gives up!

Yes, magnificently enough, this is true! And the simplicity with which this takes place should bring great peace to our understanding. Life! The Final Chapter

This is a symbol of the ambition by which man ultimately manages to leave his immortal stamp on the world around him, here dramatized in his desire for a fullness of living and a perfection of accomplishment. The individual employs whatever means are available for trying his hand at the skills through which he would know his expanding self-fulfillment, and in his days of play and training he learns to fix his eyes steadily on the pyramid of goals ahead.

When positive, the degree is an indomitable determination to give the lesser potentialities of existence a more effective dimension, and when negative, idle self-indulgence and ingenious claims of merit.

Today’s Septenary speaks of the way of coming to the mysteries prepared to receive, to emulate!

Alignment with Divine Will is both a protection and a requirement before the Mysteries will unfold, before they can be understood, and before their power may be made manifest in the world. There are no shortcuts. The Mysteries are self-protected from any thievery by mankind. In the meantime, man will think that he knows. He will exercise his right to claim inspired thought, perceived might, unrelenting fortitude. But in the end, he will find that knowing the path and walking the path are not the same thing. Then he will bow in humility and his true learning will commence. He will be recreated as if for the first time. He will hear with new ears and see with new eyes.

The Wonder of Seven: Creation!

One of the last books that Dr. Marc Edmund Jones wrote was Fundamentals of Number Significance. In it, on page 358, he speaks of the number SEVEN, which we will look at today. Why? Because a numerological reduction of 25 is 7! And today we are giving the Mysteries voice!

“The number SEVEN has the final consideration in a proper numerology as a prime number illimitably liquid, or directly representative of the universe of flux like ONE and FIVE. In the way that FIVE or absolute intermediation of a sort is more akin to ONE or basic source, SEVEN in a special independence of self-sufficiency within the ten-fold scheme has a more effective affinity conversely with TEN or the supernal ONE. It provides an expression of a species of completion to be celebrated as in the idea of a sabbath to bring the week into a fullness of realization or accomplishment. …

“Apparently and perhaps almost from the dawn of human intelligence, man has found the SEVEN to be a sacred number and so he has given it great prominence in his religious beliefs and practices. This is a symbol of the persisting imminence of real rewards in experience, and of an ever-immediate danger of failing to see or welcome them. Implicit in the symbolism is the need for a conscious worthiness of selfhood as the foundation for any self-fulfillment, or for any capitalization on the opportunities to be found in everyday reality. There must be a creative alertness to the signs and portents by which the world speaks to man, or else all personality is lost in an eventual nonentity.

The Keyword is FORTUNE.

When positive, the degree is radiant good will and an ingratiating proficiency of self-interest, and when negative, carelessness and impracticality.

So, you know how to love. You are kind to your fellowman. Always ready to pitch in and help, lift another, buoy the spirits of the downtrodden. Basically, just an all-around wonderful kind of person! That’s you alrighty!

Can you take it all in?

The bluebirds in the game Angry Birds have a unique quality. “They have the ability to split into three separate birds. Whether they start as one or just hide behind one another is unknown. …They are currently the weakest bird out of the Flock.” Wiki

Time to collect our thoughts and get our act together! Focus! Focus! Focus!

Knock, knock, knockin’ on our noggins! We’ve forgotten the Prime Directive!

Come on! We all know the only thing we can change is ourselves. The Bluebird comes with a warning. Can you find it?

So, how’s that going so far?

You get what you give. Our thoughts are directing the quantum universe of electrons to deliver our exact commands right back to us. The Sacred Way

Authentically you? Is the way you live your life fact or fiction? What say ye?

Today’s septenary is about a Chinese laundry, with a curious keyword to get us thinking about what goes on behind the scenes of “cleaning” things, Chinese-style. Wherever your thoughts might take you in reflecting on this, here’s my takeaway, especially given the political atmosphere and chaos we’ve all been through. As always, apply concepts not only at the collective, but also at the personal level.
