Aries 7° “Free your mind, the rest follows.”

red_or_blue_pill_crimson_quill-2

The Span of Realization – The 1st Hemisphere of Aries

Phase 7

Fire Element – Cardinal

The formula is: manipulating-critical-original-specializing-social-sensitive.

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Aries 7° A man successfully expressing himself in two realms at once

This is a symbol of a creative division of labor within the self, such as distinguishes human kind from the lower orders of life and enables any individual to participate in the experience of many interpenetrating realms of reality. There is capacity here for a complete control of events by shifting from one to another focus of emphasis whenever it proves convenient or expedient.

The keyword is PROFICIENCY.

When positive, the degree is unlimited versatility and a special gift for divorcing the things of issue from whatever lacks immediate pertinence, and when negative, a tendency to defeat all self-competence in an unintelligent scattering of interest.

Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin

“The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you’re inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.” Morpheus

PJ’s Manifesto, “Telling me your dreams” ~ The Hand of God

“You know what I love most about this moment. The only person who knows where I am right now… is me….it’s like looking into infinity. This is what perfection looks like. Big data hates this place. Free will. So they trick us. They take everything they know about us and they use it against us. To control us. They make it so easy. Don’t they? We can get a pill for any mood online. We come at the click of a button. We Uber our food. I mean, what the fuck? We’ve given up the right to choose in exchange for free shipping, and a money-back guarantee. We give them our data, and they make chains that fit us better…Wake the fuck up! Wake the fuck up!”

Welcome to the amazing Sabian symbols!

These personal reflections are but an example of one person’s journey of discovery with the Sabian Symbols. This blog series was written in 2014 and 2015, during the last two years of my mother’s life. She and I lived here together in my home, and at the end of each day I would sit and write my reflections on each symbol. At that time I had studied the Sabian symbols for seven years. However, these blogs aren’t interpretations, they are simply my reflections about the symbols. Yet, they hold a very sacred place in my heart and in my memories. I have edited them lightly over the following years, but always preserving the essential feelings and energies surrounding that first attempt at writing about them. When this series is done being edited, around Scorpio season, I will most likely go on and begin a new blog series. Much has changed over the past nearly nine years! I have many other things I’d like to share about the symbols. But, for now, this is the first cycle of reflections.

If you are interested in beginning your own adventure with the Sabian symbols, I encourage you to begin keeping a set of notes of your own thoughts. You might begin your quest with drawing a Sabian symbol from the Sabian Oracle. You can find it by clicking the link below. Enter the time of the draw for later reference.

Aries 6° “Construct brightly while you can.”

television

The Span of Realization – The 1st Hemisphere of Aries

Phase 6

Fire Element – Cardinal

The formula is: manipulating-critical-original-specializing-social-experimental.

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Aries 6° A square brightly lighted on one side

This is a symbol of experience as the over-all sustainment of any personal or conscious being. A materialistic reality is found to be sheer illusion when taken of itself or given any power on its own account, but it also is discovered to be the servant of every human impulse whenever life becomes red-blooded or achieves a motivation and an effective appreciation of its own nature. Implicit here is the realization that things are given their fundamental ordering as they are accepted in consciousness.

The keyword is SET.

When positive, the degree is the absolute unimpeachability of a genuine self-direction, and when negative, complete loss of self-efficacy in a surrender to frustrations.

A Whole New World – Aladdin

Embracing the Infinite by Kelly Lee Phipps (February 5, 1971 – March 25, 2014)

Above the wavering sea stars await
your return
mirrored across the deep span
stretching within
The curving space between here and
there is endless
Yet it seems like you’ve been
abandoned in the emptiness

You can never stop the flow of dark imagery
coursing through your heart
Those chambers of guilt and fear always struggle
to contain the tingling fire dancing as your soul

It hurts to be free.
But when you step into your passion
the whole universe opens within…
And others may wander with black
holes for hearts
devouring your visions with their fears

But tell me. How old are you?

That’s not your age.
It’s simply the number of orbits
you’ve made around this star
You’ve made many orbits around
other stars like a timeless electron zipping around
an atomic nucleus
You are infinite!

And if you argue for your limitations,
you have to fight them.
But if you discover your possibilities,
you get to create them

So stand still,
gaze at the sky
Sense the reverence rising inside
And know that your being
Is an extension of eternity.

Aries 5° “Mobilize aspirations.”

The Span of Examination – The 1st Hemisphere of Aries

Phase 5

Fire Element – Cardinal

The formula is: manipulating-critical-original-specializing-physical-inspired.

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Aries 5° A triangle with wings

This is a symbol of the inviolability of man’s essential nature throughout every ramification of his experience, as long as he holds to the purity of his original impulses. There is here a very practical balance in his self-fulfillment, thanks to his threefold individuality in terms of skills, loyalties and values. Light rather than darkness remains the goal of his life, and his personal capacities become a continual refinement of every baser metal in selfhood.

The keyword is ZEAL.

When positive, the degree is the creative transformation of everything into an expression of enduring idea and a reflection of the real vision ahead, and when negative, blissful obliviousness to all normal or everyday considerations.

Aries 4° “Hold on to what you believe.”

Aries 4

The Span of Realization – The 1st Hemisphere of Aries

Phase 4

Fire Element – Cardinal

The formula is: manipulating-critical-original-specializing-physical-responsible.

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Aries 4° Two lovers strolling through a secluded walk

This is a symbol of the first innocent rounding out of conscious experience, and of an unspoiled assurance of personal potentialities for which no immediate sense of responsibility is necessary. Implicit here is the fact that reality is ever without meaning or power except as it stimulates the self to move in its own interest persistently and continuously whenever the least opportunity offers.

The keyword is ENJOYMENT.

When positive, the degree is an utterly naïve assimilation of self into its world and a complete flow of all effort towards some proper end, and when negative, the indiscriminate loss of the self’s real assets in pure self-indulgence.

Hold on to What You Believe ~ Into the Wild

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be.

And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

The Span of Realization – The 1st Hemisphere of Aries

Phase 3

Fire Element – Cardinal

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Aries 3° A cameo profile of a man in the outline of his country

The keyword is EXPLOITATION.

This is a symbol of a real breadth of participation in everyday affairs, and of the extent to which every individual tends to epitomize the tradition and culture from which he has emerged. There is here the suggestion of both an impersonal self-dedication to broader community interests and a highly personal dramatization of the self as a focus for group actuality.

Brighter than the sun

Oh, this is how it starts
Lightning strikes the heart
It goes off like a gun
Brighter than the sun
Oh, we could be the stars
Falling from the sky
Shining how we want
Brighter than the sun

Sky phenomena are increasing. Are they real? What well-made plans are underway? More importantly, whose well-made plans are underway? Are yours? What is your plan? How will you execute it, exploit it? This symbol tells us. Read it again. If you do not tend to your plan, the others’ plan will surely encompass you. Begin with an outline, then fill it in. There is not a lot of time. I recently received this from a friend, “Humanity has entered a very difficult period… The pressure and stress to move forward and create other conditions is going to be enormous. It is necessary to work and work very hard… There is no time.”

Be up and about your business! Mind it, and mind it well!

Discomfort of not-knowing
Vague sense of insecurity

Aries 2° “Lesson One: You must toughen!”

2017-03-21_13-31-28

The Span of Realization – The 1st Hemisphere of Aries

Phase 2

Fire Element – Cardinal

The formula is: manipulating-critical-original-specializing-physical-sensitive.

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Aries 2° A comedian entertaining a group

This is a symbol of the mirror which life holds up to itself recurrently, and so facilitates an everyday understanding of itself. The identity of each individual is projected back into the wholly naïve potential of his experience, thereby providing a fresh and transcendent self-perspective. Here is man’s heightened individuality as he discovers he may play whatever role he finds useful in each momentary contact with others, together with the continual self-reassurance he gains in self-rehearsal.

The keyword is RELEASE.

When positive, the degree is the power of personality through a full and completely uninhibited self-expression, and when negative, a neglect of common responsibility through idle diversions of interest.

The Reason ~ Hoobastank

“A thick skin is a gift from God.” Konrad Adenauer

The things we laugh at the hardest—our biggest belly laughs—happen when we are brought face-to-face with the ridiculousness of ourselves. That is our release of our self-judgments, of our imperfections–that which absolutely must take place at the critical core level to make way for a rebooting, a resetting of our very essence of self-understanding and self-acceptance, warts and all. We simply must let go, laugh, and see ourselves from a higher level. Get there. Do whatever it takes. Laugh! Roar! It is really quite hysterical! And, no, you didn’t recreate the wheel. We meet there in our humanness–for laughter truly is the best medicine and it unites!

Adam Sandler’s infamous comedy routine explains: “They’re all gonna laugh at you!” (a seemingly forever looping audio–in case we don’t get it the first time, I suppose…) Adam’s career in comedy began with down-and-dirty routines. Maybe you put your nose up in utter disgust, if and when you heard some of those, like “The Longest Pee”. Most likely, judgmental snootiness deemed him unworthy of worldly success. Yet, Adam left us laughing at him as he journeyed all the way to the bank. Something to think about…

So, let us not be too quick to judge. That is the lesson. We’ve got to learn to laugh at not only ourselves, but to tongue-in-cheek the antics of others. Seriously. Let’s learn to laugh again. If you want release, that is…

“Learning to let go should be learned before learning to get. Life should be touched, not strangled. You’ve got to relax, let it happen at times, and at others move forward with it. It’s like boats. You keep your motor on so you can steer with the current. And when you hear the sound of the waterfall coming nearer and nearer, tidy up the boat, put on your best tie and hat, and smoke a cigar right up till the moment you go over. That’s a triumph.” ― Ray Bradbury

For a time such as this

I won’t even venture into the revolutionary impactful communications known as memes, icons, or emojis! You’ve got your favs, and I’ve got mine! They sure do hit the spot, don’t they! ROFLMAO

Aries 1° “Where ere you go, there you are.”

Aries 1

The Span of Realization – The 1st Hemisphere of Aries

Phase 1

Fire Element – Cardinal

The formula is: manipulating-critical-original-specializing-physical-experimental.

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Aries 1° A woman rises out of water, a seal rises and embraces her.

This is a symbol of completely unconditioned potentiality, as this may be grasped on the practical side of life. Here are elements of soul emerging from primordial nonexistence, and of an essentially feminine receptivity calling up a more masculine or personal and self-seeking initiative. There is an implicit emphasis on the mutual interdependence of the emotional and purposeful aspects of self.

The keyword is REALIZATION.

When positive, the degree is an illimitability of experience of which anyone can take advantage under any or all circumstances, and when negative, a failure to find a place in life because the self cannot separate itself from its own private obsessions.

The Chosen

Healing. That is why revolutions come, so that there might be a healing. (If you didn’t click on the link above and watch the trailer for Season 2 of The Chosen, please go back now and do that. If you haven’t seen The Chosen, you can now! It is free and available on YouTube or on its own downloadable app so you can watch it on your phone! You’ll be glad you did.)

Aries is pioneering. Raw fire power. We need that now. We have that now. Engage!

Regarding the journey ahead:  Truth Be Told, Thoughts Become Things. You are divinity in the flesh… You are chosen. You are whole. And you can heal whenever you are ready… Now, go and stir up the waters, stand up! Arise! Now go forth and do what you came here to do!

“The way in which one gains whole wholeness is, first of all, to entertain the following radical concept: There is nothing that is intrinsically true about me that is wrong. Secondly, therefore, why am I having problems? And what you look for are the ways in which your inclinations are being used improperly. Now, very interesting word ‘proper’—most people think it means ‘correct.’ It doesn’t. The Latin root of ‘proper’ and ‘appropriate’ means ‘one’s own.’ So, when you use something improperly, you’re using it a way that is not suitable for who you are.” Robert Hand, Turning of the Wheel radio broadcast 5.16.14 with Chris Flisher

The Span of Protection – The 2nd Hemisphere of Pisces

Phase 360

Water Element – Common or Mutable

The formula is: sustaining-practical-universal-generalizing-spiritual-inspired.

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Pisces 30° The Great Stone Face

This is a symbol of human responsibility as an immortality of the soul, and of a way of living which has become a continual manifestation of its ideal and so a constant dramatization of its self-discovery to others as an encouragement to them in their own alignment to eternal reality. Each individual selects the image within himself to which he would shape himself outwardly, and this he comes to resemble as in Nathaniel Hawthorne’s tale. Little Wonders

Sealing Up Your Boxed  Offering and Your Sacrifice

Come to the portal of wisdom this day with heart in hand. Tomorrow a woman will rise from the sea. Today all things become concretized. Your way is not the world’s way; it is your way. And I have my way. This is All Ways…. and ALWAYS…how it is and should be. Tomorrow will birth a new cycle for each and every part of the All. But today all things become concrete. We do not understand all things; nevertheless, all things in their current condition of non-understanding and imperfection must come to rest. Tomorrow must begin with a new thought—a new way ahead—a new quest for consciousness and evolution.

Today sets all imperfections into their boxes of safe keeping, forever. There is no more we can do with this imperfection save to seal it up, having tried our best. That is all that we could do, and all that has been asked of us by ourselves! It is sad! It is also exhilarating! A new start! A job well-done! But now it must consume itself, concretize, that life may begin anew! I can do no more. You can do no more. Thus, we seal it up; we lift it up. We raise and lift it up into Heaven’s hands. It is my gift; it is your gift–of what I have done with all that I was given, of what you have done with all that you were given. We pray our gifts—our offerings and sacrifices– may be found worthy in some regard.

I don’t often add two images to a symbol-entry, but today I will break the rules–for I am the author and creator of these blogs. Let this great water sign etch its memory in the sands of time, as well as in the Great Stone Face! Therefore, know this:

Pisces 29° “Birth a new light from within.”

The Span of Protection – The 2nd Hemisphere of Pisces

Phase 359

Water Element – Common or Mutable

The formula is: sustaining-practical-universal-generalizing-spiritual-responsible.

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Pisces 29° A prism

This is a symbol of the world’s stability, and of the refusal of nature to change any aspect of herself unnecessarily. The reliability of normal processes and the consistency of true intelligence are the foundation of a common knowledge which man has been expanding through the centuries, and his continuance of the control he has gained over his environment is promise of much more wonderful achievement ahead. He is able to take any convenient facet of the reality at his hand and fashion it into an effective instrument for a measure of the whole potential.

The keyword is VALIDATION.

When positive, the degree is exceptional accomplishment through judgment of unusual accuracy, and when negative, fatuous pride of intellect.

Diffraction Grating

Making things clear and ordered for better understanding, taking the undefinable and defining it. Giving structure to an opaque and obscure rendering, dividing things asunder for assimilation. In science, it is called a spectrometer; its purpose is to produce “an optical component with a periodic structure, which splits and diffracts light into several beams travelling in different directions. The emerging coloration is a form of structural coloration.” Wiki

That’s the scientific explanation. How would you describe it?

Pisces 28° “What do you want to create?”

2018-03-17_22-57-21

The Span of Protection – The 2nd Hemisphere of Pisces

Phase 358

Water Element – Common or Mutable

The formula is: sustaining-practical-universal-generalizing-spiritual-responsible.

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones provides the official meaning of this Sabian symbol in his work, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

Pisces 28° A fertile garden under the full moon

This is a symbol of a simple satisfaction through outer rather than inner manifestations of reality, or of a normal self-dedication to purely conventional accomplishment. Man is blessed as he is more the average than the exceptional individual, since he then is legion in his service to his kind. His struggles have the common note in which the race survives, and in his archetypal make-up there is room to salvage all the failures and embody all the contributions of the far more lonely genius.

The keyword is ULTIMACY.

When positive, the degree is high reward in worldly goods and exceptional self-integrity in using them, and when negative, irritating pride of possession.

The Gods Must Be Restless

The Lightning Strike ~ What if this Storm Ends?  Snow Patrol

There is an archetypal quality in today’s symbol. From the outside, we see normality, success–just exactly as the world, our cultures, our caste systems lay it out. But on the inside, we will find from deeper inspection, that part of the symbol that has the inherent ability “to salvage all the failures and embody all the contributions of the far more lonely genius.” How? How can one bent on success, as the world speaks of it, salvage and embody that which it is not?

Ah! There is an answer, but it is hidden within. Thus, we must look deeper! Come and take a peek where the wildest of dreams lie hidden…

Yes, there is much material wealth and the ability to fit in, most fittingly, with the upper-crust of society, and also the willingness to work hard for the materialization of the things which this world demands. Then there is that secret part, enchanted by true genius, mesmerized by those who daringly follow their dreams without any thought given whatsoever to material possession—those outcasts that the world would set aside. Here also then is yearning and compassion far-reaching. Genuine admiration for all creatures and their willingness to follow their own dreams. A respect for equality and equanimity at all levels of existence. These feelings are kept hidden. This fertile garden is a blind and filter meant to keep out those who are truly superficial. They will see only the ultimate wealth and abundance. Perchance, you are one of the lucky ones, the more illuminated ones, visiting the fertile garden on the full moon when lightning strikes and the fairies and sprites of this soul are seen skipping from petal to stalk and weaving their magic!

What if this storm ends?
And I don’t see you
As you are now
Ever again
A perfect halo
Of gold hair and lightning
Sets you off against
The planet’s last dance
Just for a minute
The silver forked sky
Lit you up like a star
That I will follow
